top 10 horror shots
The above video is our top 10 horror shots video. We tried to include as many skills, shots and features as we could to make this video fit the horror genre. We made sure that our casting was perfect, so we had Rich wear all black to suggest evil and made sure we were unable to see him actual face which builds up the suspense. For the vulnerable victim we used Jas, blonde, small and scared, making the perfect victim for our shots.
However, we did make some mistakes. We noticed once the video was edited and finished that Rich pulled the knife out with the opposite hand as to which he 'kills' Jas with. This therefore made us aware that we need to check for these small mistakes before finishing our final horror. We also tried to add in the sound of a knife scraping the metal as there is a close up of the weapon. But of course this was not as simple as it seemed. There were no sound effects that matched the way Rich had placed the knife and we therefore had to record this ourselves. This made the video a lot worse of quality than it could have been because it did not fit the rest of the clip and featured sounds of wind and other ambient sounds.
These mistakes will guide us to success in our final horror as we are able to learn from them and avoid them throughout our course of filming.
